  • 1986: Donald Trump was awarded an “Ellis Island Medal of Honor. “Among the 83 Ellis Island Medal of Honor winners getting their awards today in New York are former Florida citrus industry spokesman Anita Bryant, mall developer Edward DeBartolo and new Florida real estate holder Donald Trump.” (Miami Herald, October 27, 1986)
  • 1990: Donald Trump was given an award by the New York Society of Association Executives proclaiming him “Outstanding New Yorker” of the year. “Donald Trump was honored as ‘Outstanding New Yorker of 1990’ by the New York Society of Association Executives Thursday.” (Palm Beach Post, February 23, 1990)
  • 1995: Doanld Trump was the first recipient of a “President’s Medal” by a group called the Freedoms Foundation. “Donald Trump will be the first recipient of an award established by the Freedoms Foundation to honor business leaders active in youth programs. The President's Medal will be given to the billionaire entrepreneur at a dinner June 6 at the Twelve Caesars on City Avenue in Philadelphia.   • 1995: Trump was given a “Comeback of the Decade” award by Manhattan’s Forum Club. “Donald Trump was honored as ‘the comeback of the decade’ by fellow power suits at a Manhattan lunch of the Forum Club Tuesday. The Donald disclosed that at his lowest fiscal point during the 1991 real estate collapse, he lost $12 bil and was ‘perhaps $3 billion’ in debt.   • 2012: Donald Trump was inducted into the German-American Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at Trump Tower. “Donald Trump will be inducted into the German-American Hall of Fame Oct. 17 in ceremonies at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City, William Hetzler, chairman of the board of the German-American Hall of Fame, announced. Business scion Trump, a part time Palm Beacher, is the grandson of Frederich and Elizabeth Trump, German immigrants who arrived in the United States in 1885.
