  • Ken Kurson, the editor of the New York Observer sat in the Trump family's private box during the 2016 Republican National Convention. "Chicago indie rockers of a certain age might have spotted a familiar face in an unfamiliar setting if they tuned into the Republican National Convention this week -- former Green bassist Ken Kurson, sitting center stage in the Trump family's private box. Kurson, 47, is now the editor of the New York Observer, owned by Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, the husband of Trump's daughter Ivanka. His decision to locate himself in the Trump enclosure during Tuesday and Wednesday's proceedings upset some of his rival journalists." (Chicago Tribune, July 22, 2016)
    • In addition to being an editor of The Observer, Ken Kurson was a former manager of Giuliani's presidential campaign and a co-author of one of Giuliani's books. "Kurson long ago progressed from the rock world into journalism and conservative politics. He co-wrote former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's bestselling book ‘Leadership’ and helped run Giuliani's unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign." (Chicago Tribune, July 22, 2016)
