Development of Trump's course in Aberdeen required disturbing 4,000-year-old coastal sand dunes. Despite local opposition efforts, the Scottish government approved the proposal, finding that economic gains would outweigh environmental costs.[1]
Trump has vowed to suspend all development activities in Aberdeen in protest of the Scottish government's decision to build wind turbines off the coast of the resort. [2]
