- 1986: Donald Trump was awarded an “Ellis Island Medal of Honor. “Among the 83 Ellis Island Medal of Honor winners getting their awards today in New York are former Florida citrus industry spokesman Anita Bryant, mall developer Edward DeBartolo and new Florida real estate holder Donald Trump.” (Miami Herald, October 27, 1986)
- 2012: Donald Trump was inducted into the German-American Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at Trump Tower. “Donald Trump will be inducted into the German-American Hall of Fame Oct. 17 in ceremonies at Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City, William Hetzler, chairman of the board of the German-American Hall of Fame, announced. Business scion Trump, a part time Palm Beacher, is the grandson of Frederich and Elizabeth Trump, German immigrants who arrived in the United States in 1885.
